چکیده

Oil sludge (OS) is the toxic product of various oil refinery processes. biophytoremediation sustainable remediation efforts were conducted to reduce OS toxicity level and they also need be monitored through test. In this study, toxicants postbiophytoremediation for 24 months (OS ) 40 ), tested Daphnia magna. The test consisted Range Finding Test, acute chronic purpose research obtain LC50 value each effects shown by D. method in study was experimental with Completely Randomized Design (CRD). LC 50-96 hours values calculated from 50% dead individuals while magna reproduction number neonates (offspring) produced within three weeks. 50 0.042 ppm 0.366 respectively. Both categorized as ‘extremely toxic’ refer Swan, 1994, observed delays a decrease neonates.

Freshwater microcrustacean Daphnia magna Straus as an early screen model to compare toxicity of acetylcholinesterase inhibitors

Daphnia magna is a freshwater microcrustacean which is often used for acute and chronic toxicity testing in aquatic ecotoxicology. Recently, tests with daphnids have been used to prescreen the toxicity of newly synthesized acetylcholinesterase reactivators (oximes), which appear as weak inhibitors of acetylcholinesterase (AChE). In our study we investigated and compared the toxicity of five rev...

Toxicity Assessment of Some Conventionally Manufactured Nanoparticles to Daphnia Magna

Background and purpose: Nanoparticles (NPs) are used in different industries, including electronics, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, healthcare, and environmental processes. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate their toxicity in the aquatic environment. Materials and methods: The acute toxicity of six different kinds of nano-sized particulates (SiO2, Fe2O3, Al2O3, TiO2, ZnO, and MgO) to Daphnia ...

Lactate dehydrogenase activity as an effect criterion in toxicity tests with Daphnia magna straus.

Activity of lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) was used as an effect criterion in toxicity tests with Daphnia magna. In the first part of the work, the conditions for the use of LDH activity in toxicity tests with juveniles and adults of D. magna, were optimized. The influence of parameters such as the number of animals per sample, nutritional status, age and the presence of eggs in the brood chamber ...

Assessment of Aquatic Toxicity of River Keya Using Daphnia magna

This study assessed the aquatic toxicity of the River Keya during its passage through the Hsin Chu City, Taiwan. The River Keya receives effluent from the Union Wastewater Treatment Plant of Hsin Chu Science Industrial Park (UWTP-HCSIP) primarily covering more than 500 semiconductors-related high-tech industries. Although the effluent from the UWTP-HCSIP has met the current environmental regula...
